addressfinder query

I am a new employee.  I've been given the task of using AddressFinder for Raiser's Edge 7.96.  I have found the information on how to import the results but not how to create a proper query and upload it.  Can anyone help me find the instructions?

Are you attempting just to clean up a whole bunch of addresses at once? If so, here's a brief how-to:

1.) Create your query that captures the people you want to fix

2.) Go to Data Health Center > Data Health Center (the tab in the top middle of the screen) > Validate Addresses (link in the middle right of the screen)

3.) Click the first "include" button and plug in your query

    4.) Click "Update Now"

Depending on how many records you're updating, this could take a while.

If there are problems with any addresses, AddressAccelerator will skip those addresses entirely. You should visually inspect this group afterward by:

    1.) Open up your query

2.) In the output tab grab the "Preferred Zip Code" field

    3.) Click on Results

4.) Typically speaking, any address that has a 4 digit extension (01234-xxxx) is good, and any one that is missing that enxtesion (no hyphen, no additional 4 digits) needs to be inspected manually. Typically there's something weird with how the address data was formatted (like it says "apartment lower" instead of just "lower", that kind of thing), or there is a missing apartment number altogether, or the address is just bad and you'll need to do some research to see if you can find a valid address for that constituent.

    Hope that helps.

    Hi Jeanine,

I use Article 40683 in the BB knowledgebase (How to submit data for an AddressFinder screening in the Data Health Center (includes video demo)) for this task. The video is very helpful. The query we have created is an Individual query and includes everyone with a Preferred Country of United States, Preferred Address type of Home, and because we have certain constituents we don't want included we also add Specific Record not one of and Constituency Description does not equal. I hope this helps!
