Best Practice for Tracking Event Sponsorships

Hi,


I'm new to my org, and an issue was brought to my attention concerning event sponsorships entered using Luminate Online. This leads me to a few questions as it relates to getting organization and individual information from Luminate into RE.


1. How do you track event sponsorships in Luminate and enter gifts using RELO?

2. Do you have issues merging new Luminate organization entries with existing organizations that already live in RE?

3. Do you also have issues merging individual gifts if a constituent record already exists in RE?

Hi Marquia,


We have Raisers Edge and Luminate Online TeamRaiser; and use RELO.


For any organizational sponsorship or donation, I create a gift batch within RE. In addition, the organizational sponsorship or donation is also entered within the LO Teamraiser event. Unfortunately, organization gifts do not pass thru RELO.

-For sponsorships, I track them within RE using the Appeals > packages function. Creating package types for each sponsorship level/participant type within the appeals record.

* Within that same gift batch, I include packages to track sponsorship type.


As for individuals, I try to merge the primary registrant to (one who registers and pays) sync to RE if they have an existing record. Otherwise, I create a new constitiuent record for that primary registrant.
