How do you get notified when a donation is made?

Options

Hello,

Where in the Donation form setup do you see how to get notified when a donation is made? For example, getting an email every time a donation is made.

Thanks.

  • You set this up on the Campaign level (not the specific donation form). When you click on the Donation Management flyout under Fundraising, you'll see the list of your Campaigns. Click the "edit" link (instead of "manage") next to the one you'd like to set up a notification on. Step 3 in the Process Navigator will allow you to add e-mail addresses that you want notifications to be sent to. It's actuall a "Large Gift" notification feature, so if you want an e-mail notification for every online gift, just make sure your "Large gift amount" is only $1.

If you want to set up a general cross-campaign notification for all your forms, there's a "General Configurations" tab at the far right of the Donation Management area. This has the same "Large Gift" notification option.

    I hope this helps!

One note: Jon is correct about the Campaign-level notifications and the General Configurations tab. You should know that the General Configurations tab applies only to Donations Classic forms, and the Campaign-level settings are for Donations 2.0 (non-Classic). Since I think most clients are using Donations 2.0, you should probably spend the time making changes at the various Campaign levels.

Cool. Thanks for the clarification on the General Configurations tab Sally!
