Using the Campaign Snippet in Email Signatures

Options

Question:

I have a question about the snippets. How do you put them in an email? (for a signature)

Answer:

I'm going to list the instructions for posting the snippet to a signature using Outlook 2003. If you are using a different version of Outlook, these instructions might vary a little bit. If you are not using Outlook, you would need to research your own email software to learn how to update signature settings for your email.

Outlook 2003: Once you have Outlook open, in the top menu navigate to:

Tools >> Options >> Mail Format tab

1) Once you're on this tab, make sure that you have chosen for your messages to be in the format "HTML".

2) Further down, click on the "Signatures" button.

3) You can either choose a signature to edit or you can create a new signature.

4) When you are editing that signature, you will need to insert the image from the snippet. (if you are using an email client that allows you to paste HTML source code directly into the signature, then simply copy and paste the snippet code into the signature file).

5) If you're able to paste the HTML source directly, then the image will already be linked, if you inserted the image in by saving the image first to your desktop and then inserting (right click, insert image) then you will need to highlight the image and make it a link to http://yourshortname.convio.net/campaign

6) Save the signature and make sure that this is the selected signature for your email messages.

7 ) Test it by sending an email to yourself and you should be good to go.

If you are using a different email client, you might need to do an internet search to find instructions on how to update the signature file with HTML source code in that particular email client.

Cheers,

Adam
