Moving Notes to Prospect Tab

We recently added the prospect tab to our database and we want to move one whole category of notes from the note tab (we have labeled as Cultivation Insights) to the Prospect tab. Is  exporting all the notes with Import ID's and Importing them back into the Prospect tab the best way to do this? Will I only need the Note Import ID?

I don't believe the Prospect Tab itself has a Notes section.  If it does, I'm not seeing it.


If you want to move them to be Proposal Notes (linked to a specific Proposal), then I would try Exporting the existing Constituent Notes, including the Constituent ID, and then Importing as Proposal Notes.  It looks like you'll need to use Import to Export the Proposals (if they're already in RE) and get the Proposal Import ID.  Otherwise, RE won't know what Proposal to put the Note on.


Since you just got the Prospect Module, if you are also just starting to create the Proposals, you might wait and import the Notes with the Proposal information as one Import.


Test with one record first until you figure out your exact process.  And as someone posted yesterday, if you're not familiar with using Import, block out some time to learn it without interruption.  And when you do the full file, do it after hours and after a full backup is complete.

I realized after I wrote this post there was not a note section but I like your idea!  We have only entered a handful of proposals so far so nothing too messy yet. Thank you for the help!
