Constituents missing emails

Options
For some reason my constituents don't have email addresses with their accounts, this is odd because the same constituents are in RE and have emails listed. I thought the two were supposed to be connected. Am I doing something wrong? I'm about to send an EOY email and would hate for it to not reach our donors. Thanks!

    Lealah,

How are the email fields mapped from RE to LO? We ran into a similar issue for some of our donors. We found out that is was related to the additional phone (email) types in RE that we use. Only two could be mapped to sync with LO so the other email types in RE didn't come across in the data sync to LO. We add to update records to copy those addresses over to one of the mapped fields to have it sync to LO.

  • Use the Interactions tab and click Show All.

You should be able to see if your sync, or something else, makes a change to that field.
  • Hello –

Do you mean the ‘interactions management’ tab?
When I click that the screen says “no results found”.

  • I mean on the constituent record, the Interactions tab.

From there you should see a section labeled "Select the Interaction Types to display for this constituent." Click Show all.

That gives you a log of pretty much everything that happened to that record.

If you don't see this you might need additional access rights. Contact support.
  • Will doing this help me solve the issues of
    missing email addresses?

  • Yep, it's where I would start. You don't know what's causing the missing email address, right? In interactions you can see the history of the record.

So maybe they were created with one, and then later a DataSync occurred that overwrote that email address. Or perhaps only donors to a certain form have this problem. Or maybe it's just imported offline donors.

So for instance, here's a donation log that shows exactly which fields are affected.

A UserProfile edit shows the same thing, as does a DataSync and so on. So you are looking for an interaction that involves the primary_email address.
