Need Gift-In-Kind donation form option!

My organization receives numerous in kind donations each day -- cleaning supplies, food, toys, laundry supplies, etc. Currently, donors fill out a paper form and a staff member then has to enter each donation in to RE, mail a receipt, and file the donation form. It would be so helpful to have an in-kind version of an OLX donation form where "donation amount" could be replaced with "donation value" and we could have an i-Pad at our front desk where donors could easily complete the form and instantly receive an email receipt.  We waste so much time by not having this functionality!

In the US, the organization is not supposed to place a value on a gift-in-kind.  The donor does this when they are filing taxes (if itemizing).  At my last org, we recorded the value and a Gift Code of either "Value Not Declared" or "Donor Declared Value".  Because our Finance Department needed a value on everything, but the acknowledgement letter to the donor would just list the description of the donation, no value.

Right, we do not assign a value to any in kind donation, it's the value declared by the donor which the donor then uses for tax purposes. So I should have stated that we would like it to say "Donor provided value" or something similar. 


It's more the process ridding paper forms that we wanting to achieve!
