Raisers Edge Font Size

We just converted to Raisers Edge NXT and the font size on the screen is extremely small. Does anyone know of a way to change the font size displayed?

Are you talking about the backend RE 7 style interface or the new web UI?

  • It's the backend RE database that's the problem.  The text on the database screens is extrememly small.  (The NXT screens are fine.)
  • Have you tried changing screen resolution or using the Magnifier (Start>All Programs>Accessories>Ease of Use)?
  • Thank you for your help.  I was able to come up with a solution.  I went into Control Panel, Display and changed the font size to larger.  After rebooting my computer and logging back into RE it changed the font size on the RE screen.  The only problem is that it changed the font size on everything on my computer but I can live with it!
  • Windows 10 has eliminated this capability ... still searching for an option. Cannot believe that RE help recommends 800 x 600, that was size of our monitors 20 years ago ... today our larger monitors and Windows operating system are totally different ... come on BB, RE NXT is nice but we still need to use RE ...

Thank you Janice for asking this question and providing a "work around" for now.  I swear it has a font size of about 6 - 8.  I was just made fun of on Friday for squinting to see the text on the monitor, as I couldn't locate the cursor.  We are one not-for-profit who use the 13" monitors, just recently upgraded to Windows 10, but ever since we went to NXT it has been a problem for me.

Update if you use two monitors at your workstation, Windows 10 allows on some systems to set Scale and layout custom to your individual screens. You can set one screen with a larger size and keep the other screen at the recommended size.  Right click on your screen and select Display Settings. Midway down you will see Scale and layout and a drop down box with a percentage ... normally it has been auto set to the recommended setting for your monitor and video card. You can change this setting by increaseing it for just one of your monitors. So when I need to access the RE database I view it on the right screen with the increase size set to 175%. I normally just have Chrome or Outlook on that screen also and it need require me to set my View settings in Outlook so the font wasn't jumbo size.

Yes, it is frustrating that RE database is still in the XP dark ages of low resolution monitors ....

If you're running ImportOmatic it appears that it can trigger some odd display interactions when the 'Main Screen' is set to a scale of other than 100% - this is especially an issue if you're dual-screening with a laptop and a full-size monitor. In this case, it seems best if you configure the full-size monitor as the 'Main Screen' and set  a scale of 100% on that.

(The display issues can result in being unable to access the tabs on RE forms, among other quirks.)

I have an update, since originally responding.  Enlarging the text through the display option:  Problem, when using RE (not NXT) mail/acknowledgment letters/word merge/the cursor becomes the size of a NAT, unable to see where the curser is located at within a Word Document(acknowledgment letters). Ultimately I switched back to the original display settings.

I never thought to try this. RE is sooooo tiny on my home laptop. Thanks for the tip!
