Multiple Cons360 registrations possible with the Calendar Events module

Options

I set up my first public calendar event the other day, to test for an upcoming invite-only event in two months.

I immediately discovered that you can created multiple Cons360 accounts with duplicate email addresses if you vary the spelling of your first or last name in the event registration.

Anyone else having this account duplication problem with Events?

Also, multiple RSVP is permitted which creates individual email notifications of the event to the users email. My mail server marked this as spam. Anyone else seeing this?

  • It's possible to enforce unique e-mail for Event registrations, or to allow duplicate e-mails. This is controlled through a Site Data Parameter and you can ask Support to check whether your site is set to enforce unique e-mail for Event registrations, or not.

I think that sounds like the problem that you're having, but I suppose it's possible there's something about varying first and last name spelling that could bypass a unique email enforcement, so I'd also recommend that you ask Support if it's possible that the name spelling factor is causing the problem.

  • As far as I have determined with support, that is the correct answer.

We also had not been upgraded to the latest version of Calendar, which fixed a few issues. Thanks, Sally.
