IRA Qualified Charitable Distribution and supporting organization coding and accounting processes

Options

I work for a hospital foundation, categorized as a supporting organization and as such, we are unable to accept IRA charitable distributions. We have donors who've expressed interest in making gifts to our hospital in this way. We would like to define a process in which our hospital (a qualified charitable organization) accepts the gifts with the foundation managing, recording in Raiser’s Edge and acknowledging the gifts.  The foundation can not have the gift on our financial statements, however, we need to credit the donor's account and manage the gift. I'm looking for guidance from other supporting organizations with processes for coding and management of these gifts with regard to a tie back to the supported organization, in our case the hospital.   Your help is appreciated!
