New to OLX I need your advice on the best way to clean up bounced emails...

Hi all,

We recently send our newsletter to all of our subcribers via OLX for the first time, data was also collected for the first time, so we were expecting to do a big clean up after this first email.  We got 1,000+ records with bounced responses, is there a way to clean up these records globally?  At the moment we are manually going through each one and deleting the emails and changing the query from bounced to cleaned bounced (It was the only way to keep track).  Is there a better way to do this, maybe globally? Your ideas and comments are welcome.   :-)


Maybe there is a new feature that I should be using in OLX to do this?

Hi Jenny-

I was confused about the meaning of the Bounced status at first.

Bounces can be hard or soft. Soft simply mean that the mailbox was full or the message was larger than allowed for that address' account or provider. For example - on my last email through OLX I had 80 bounces - but that doesn't mean those were all hard bounces. When I go to the "Unusable emails" tab only 9 were HARD bounces (un-deliverable - usually a bad address or closed account). So I'm not worried about the other 71 bounces in this instance. OLX knows not to send to the hard bounces and opt outs anymore but I'll go in and change the hard bounces to a email type of BAD email so that I know not to try to use that one at all. The bounces will show up in the appeal response of the record if you hit the "Add this data to RE" button so you can still see who actually received the email - and who openeded it and clicked it. A constituent opting out of a particular appeal or mass e-mail hopefully still wants to hear from me personally from time to time - so I'm keeping their email address handy.
