Admin SSO redirect

The code we have running now uses SSO to authenticate the user with Convio, and then redirect back to our site (which has been working from quite some time). I've now run into an issue where if admin tries to log in, instead of abiding by the redirect URL I provide, it redirects the user to the admin login page (similar to how Convio "takes control" when the username/password is invalid")

Is there any way to have administrators follow the same login procedure as a normal user?
