How do I edit text in a recurring delivery email?

We just built a basic welcome series for our main list and set up recurring delivery for it. However, I noticed some typos in one of the emails, and tried to return it to draft to fix. I got this notification copied below:

Cancel Deliveries and Return to Draft? In order to return this message to draft, you must cancel the above deliveries first. If you are SURE, then press the 'Confirm' button. This will cancel the deliveries and return the message to draft for you. NOTE: Any delivery that is rebuilding groups or actually sending email cannot be cancelled from this page. See the Deliveries page instead.

Our deliveries are based on rebuilding groups AND send email, so I went to the Deliveries page where the trail went cold. My question is -- how do I fix the typos without having to undo then rebuild the whole email series?

  • In my experiences with recurring messages, I've found no way to make edits without canceling future deliveries, returning the message to draft, making the edits, approving, and then rescheduling future deliveries.

    That being said, if you have available pages in your PageBuilder page count consider this option. While you have the email message back in draft mode, you might want to make the main content (where you might need to make additional edits in the future) a reusable PageBuilder page and call that page into the email message. Using this method, after the message is approved and scheduled, you'll make future changes to the message by changing the page in the PageBuilder module, not the Email module.

    Update (07.29.09) - Links inserted into the email through the reusable content are not included in the email reporting as the tracking codes are not applied to the content in the reusable PageBuilder page.
