Best way to add and update Const. Codes and add Class of _ on a record.

I need to update about 500 constituent records, changing some from Former Student to Alumni and also update and add a Class of_ to their educational record. Can I use Import for this or am I better off just doing one at a time to make sure the record is concise and accurate? I already have this information in an Excel spreadsheet. I also need to add another 550 new alumni to RE - is batch entry the best?

I do this always with import. Not hard to do once you export the correct starting information (i.e. import IDs).

You could use Global Change to sort out the constituent codes - there's a "replace" option, so if you create a query of the relevant records then you can replace all Former Student codes with the Alumni code for that group of people, which might be quicker than importing the new codes and then removing the old ones in two separate stages.
