I'd like to add an interest to a group. Can you please let me know if this is possible and what steps I need to take to complete this action?

This is possible but there are multiple steps involved, outlined below:



First, you will need to run the Query to obtain all the constituents you want to identify. Once the folks are identified, you will then want to create a Mail Merge file of those individuals (preferably, the Mail Merge file should include Contact ID, Email Address and First/Last Name of the individuals.



Second, you will want to create the Interest (which will automatically create the Interest group).



Third, you will now want to run a Segmentation Upload (Data Management > Import/Export - All Data Sync Operations tab - Segmentation Upload). Before you run this upload, configure your mail merge file to include the Interest ID of the Interest and an Opt In group and set that to “Yes”. If you've never run a Segmentation Upload before, when you are on this screen, I suggest going up to Help - Help for this Page and reading the section on Segmentation Uploads so that you know which columns to add and how to label them, etc.



Once you run the Segmentation Upload successfully, that interest will now be checked on all of those constituents’ profiles. To add those users to the Interest group now, go into that group and click "Rebuild group". When that group is rebuilding, the system is basically looking for any users who have that interest checked on their profile and will place them into the specific group.
