Online Giving in Online Express: Parking Lot Questions from 6/9/2017

Thanks for another great webinair yesterday Online Express-ers. There was a lot of great discussion yesterday which unfortunately meant we weren't able to address all of the questions our attendees had during our short hour together. As promised, we've hunted down all of the answers for you and published them here in the "parking lot" post. Please find a mix of the questions and answers below. Question: Do email thank you/receipts go out automatically when someone makes a gift?
Answer: Yes. Donors will receipt the “Thank you” confirmation email + receipts (if selected) as soon as the donation is made without any manual trigger on the organizations part.

Question: Can you add a custom font to the availability of OLX fonts?
Answer: Although you cannot upload custom fonts to your Online Express forms, there is an “inherited” option that will attempt to match the font already present on the page to create a look and feel that is seamless.

Question: Will the receipt number carry into RE?
Answer: The receipt number does carry back into RE populating the corresponding receipt number on the gift record. Additionally, the ereceipt URL lives on the Attributes tab of the gift in case you need to resend the receipt.

Question: What instructions should we provide our webmaster to add the OLX script to our page?
Answer: While we cannot provide instructions for every single CMS tool and how to embed we have put together a comprehensive blog post which discusses most commonly asked questions and tips for webmasters which you can access here

Question: How do we secure our page where our OLX form is embedded?
Answer: If your organization has questions regarding what vendor to use when purchasing your SSL certificate or how to enable SSL, this is beyond this is beyond Blackbaud’s scope of support, so we recommend contacting a qualified IIS professional

Question: Can you rename funds and appeals how they display on the page to be more “donor friendly”?
Answer: You can rename funds by populating the “donor friendly” term in the “Display name” field on the "Get Started" tab. This allows you to customize what donors see when selecting their fund so consider using a naming convention that’ll make sense to them. Unfortunatley, the appeal does not allow you to rename the field as you can only select one appeal per form and it will not be seen by the end user. This appeal is only assigned for your own internal tracking once the transaction is downloaded into batch.
