changing the subject line after an A/B test

Options

We conducted an A/B test yesterday and we now want to send the winning email to the rest of our list, but we would also like to change the subject line before sending the email.

Unfortunately, when I click "Send" from the Message list and then "Send" again on the Select a Variable to Send page, it takes me straight to the Configure the Deliveries page (i.e. I'm not able to go through and change the subject line).

I wouldn't mind copying the winning message, changing the subject line and sending that out, but I need to suppress the 10,000 supporters we sent the test messages to and I can't figure out how to suppress them (I thought about downloading them somehow, uploading them to a specific Group and then adding that Group to the Do Not Email Groups list when I send the final email, but I can't figure out how to download the list of the 10,000 recipients.)

Thanks!

Heidi

  • Hi Heidi,

The subject line is part of the content of the email, and once an email message (or an email message variant) is Approved for delivery, the content is locked and becomes uneditable! You'll be able to change the subject line--and anything else about the message you want to change--by finding it in the message list or variant list and clicking the Action link called "Return to Draft". Then, make the change to the subject line, and Approve it again for delivery!
