Re: Annual Fund distribution

Hello,


Once a year we normally have an disbursement of our Annual Fund monies we have during that period.  I wondered how people if any,record this information on Rasiers Edge as monies going out?  Ive had a look at the annual fund we have set up and you cant seem to add it on there.  I thought the only way of recording outgoings like that is to create an record called 'Annual Fund' but i think that could become messy when looking at our gifts for the year etc.


Your guidance is appreciated.

    I see you are at a Foundation so do you mean you are asking if other foundations record annual fund disbursements you have made to other agencies?


    Just trying to understand your question.  I work at a non-profit and hope to get disbursements from foundations  :) 


    Or is what you are asking that you raised annual fund donations at miscellaneous events and you want to record that in RE?  If that is the case we use an Anonymous record for that.

    Thanks for getting in touch.  Sorry i probably should have clearer in my initial email.  I work for Robert Gordon University Foundation and we are set up as an non profit charity working for the Robert Gordon University strategic priorities.  We were set up as arm of the university to serve them.  We set up an Annual Fund that people can donate too that dont have a specified purpose (unrestricted fund really) and once a year we have a disbursement of monies to university projects. 


    I wondered if there was a way of recording the monies going out without creating a new record and adding the payments on there.  I thought you might have been able to do something on the fund itself but you dont seem to be able too.


    haha sorry we cant give you any money.  What organisation do you work for? I used to alot of help in the community in getting people funding for various projects.

    Ah...that makes more sense


    Maybe one of the Community Folks at a University can add more insight but I would think if you want to report on the distribution within RE (via a Fund) it needs to be a gift on a record.


    How many different projects are you needing to track?


    You could do it as one split gift perhaps


    I work for Fenway Healthcare in Boston, MA (it is a community health care organization). 


    I'm see if any of my community friends/connection work at a similar organization - none come to mind right now, but I more focus on who is using RE or Luminate (Blackbaud products I use) then the type of organization.

    And thanks Melissa for clearing it up for me.  We do use an action on a record for when we transfer money over but this wouldnt work for annual fund as its a collective of donors monies.
