Gmail alignment issues

My emails look fine when I view them in Outlook, but when I check Gmail, they're center instead of left aligned and the paragraph breaks are gone.

I've seen the other discussions about this issue talk about css style sheets, but I don't think I'm using css. I'm certainly not setting up style sheets for each email--just typing in the text. Nothing I do seems to help.

Suggestions? And please keep in mind that I am at best a novice user of html and this system generally. Thanks!

The lack of spacing between paragraphs is a known issue with Gmail, read this thread for fixing it: http://community.customer.convio.com/thread/2832?tstart=0

As for the centering of text, I imagine you must have a <center> tag or align="center" wrapping the text. I would look at the HTML code for the email and then search for center.
