Online Express Event Transactions for a paid event

Has anyone encountered this problem.


I'm downloading transactions on Online Express for a paid event. I am getting an error, "The constituent you selected is already registered for this event. You may need to enable "multiple constituent registration" in Raiser's Edge." But we do not want to enable multiple constitent registration because this would duplicate the numbers in the event.


Also, if there is an error with one transaction, the other transactions when doing bulk processing will not load to the batch.


Do you know a way to resolve this issue?

Hi Joanna - I see that you have posted in the Idea Bank about your issue - I would also draw attention to two other ideas:
Multiple events in a single form - like the Grouped Events we had in NetCommunity
One registration record with multiple fees - similar to what you are saying about enabling multiple constituent registrations. This is causing a serious rift between my Advancement Staff and the event module. I'm stuck in the middle asking them to not use spreadsheets to track everything - currently a losing battle. 


Regarding the error with one transaction - I haven't seen this recently - but I believe that if I could identify which record has the problem - I could then select all the others for batch processing and then when they are gone from the grid - see about fixing whatever errors are preventing the one transaction from completing.

Thank you for liking my idea. Yes, we are able to identify the person with the error, fix the error, then go back to the online express and import all transactions. But because sometimes we do events and preload the constituents/donors this would cause an error with every single transaction. I would like the online express to recognize the link between the constituent and update the event registration.


I have attached a picture of the event module, that I would like online express to recognize the signing up of the event and the payment, and autofill the filds in the event. This would save us a lot of time.
