Creating Birthday Queries for OLX Emails

We just wrapped up a great session covering 'Email Marketing 101 in Online Express' and we have a question for the Community!


Brenda Anderson asked: "Is there a way to send a birthday email card to their email with one query with their individual birthday? Example: Amy gets hers on April 3rd, Mary gets hers on April 10th."

Hi Tiffany,


Raiser's Edge does have an option for creating queries that pull together everyone who has a birthday in the current month, but not on the current calendar day. What I've done in the past with BBNC (so I'm guess OLX is similar, or will be soon) is have a single query called "Birthdays This Month" - which uses the criteria "Birthdate = This Month" - and used it as the basis for a scheduled email on the first day of the month.  It may not reach the recipient on their actual birthday, but I made sure the text referenced that their birthday was this month and we wanted them to know we were celebrating them all month.
