Tribute message

Hi there, my organization has got Tribute wall, where people can leave message for their love once and upload their picture as well but it is not necessary that they have to give a donation. We capture their name, address, email address, tribute  message and mailing preference. We want to update/add this information into Raisers Edge but not sure  the best place to have all this information. We have got tribute module and thinking of using this but not always we have a donation /fund with this. Can you please advice? Thanks

What if you create a Gift-In-Kind for the person who posts and use the Tribute module to track the honorees? When you pull reports you can exclude GIK and/or $0 gifts so they wont pull, or you can pull specific reports just on those GIKs.

When we run into this situation, we enter a $0 gift, and put it to our unrestricted fund for entry.  However, you could create a dummy fund to use instead as well.  Then you could still use the tribute module and still pull the "gifts" into any query or report pretty easily.

A $0 gifts seems the best way to go for your situation!

I would also record a $0 gift, perhaps coded with the "other" type (which we don't use at my org) so it doesn't end up on reports.

We have a "Gift in Kind" fund that we use - but we report IN-Kind donors in our annual report so that wouldn't help in our case. I like the option of a $0 gift with gift type of "other" because you could then exclude your non-givers if you (like us) list in-kind donations in your annual report.
