Has anyone created a Pledge Form - Donation form that does not collect payment in Luminate Online?

We have migrated from BBNC and Sphere to Luminate. In BBNC donation forms could be created with a "Bill Me Later" option that allowed the donation form to be published without requiring any type of payment.  In Luminate, the closest that I have been able to find to implement that type of feature is the Delayed Self Pledge or Immediate Self Pledge forms for Team Raiser.  In our case, these forms are for an employee campaign that accepts 'pledges' that are paid via Payroll Deduction; therefore, no merchant services.


I have tested a process using a Survey form, but the collected information does not integrate well to merge with an autoresponder; nor does it allow gift batch creation.

    Sorry I can't help as we only use Luminate for donations, but from what I hear about the other Luminate forms, all either collect contact info to be pushed through the Plug In or to batch the donation.  Perhaps a Luminate consultant will see your post and give you a few suggestions.

    United Way did this same process within Luminate using a secure survey and a login to get the the users' information (employee ID) for payroll deductions. They also used an autoresponder to give the donor information about how to follow up and when this would be deducted from paychecks.  I would say the biggest issue with this setup is integrating this with a payroll system.  It's pretty manual process and it's hard to get updated donor history for these donors inside LO. 

  • Thanks for the response.  In 2016 we actually did use a survey to collect both payroll deductions for our in-house employee campaign and our United Way campaign.  We provided exported files to our HR department to establish payroll deductions and pledge information to the United Way.  That actually worked fairly well.


    There are two problems with that process:

    1. The autoresponder processes so quickly, the fields that we mapped to the pledge information did not always update and merge with the autoresponder. It was about 50/50 of those individuals who received an ack that included the right gift information, and those that had an N/A merge into the autoresponder.  

    2. The gift information for the recurring payroll deductions could not be downloaded as a gift batch and easily committed because the form was not a gift form.  Takes away the gift automation process.

    Do you have any additional information on this? We are currently running a campaign that will require a way to do a payroll deduction for employees. We were directed to a survey, but now we are trying to minimize the manual labor issues.
    • We were told by support that offline gifts in RE could be assigned to the donation form. Can this work at all with pledges?
    • Is there a way to set up an autoresponder with the gift information in it if it's coming from a survey? We need to account for all donors and gifts to ensure they will receive their tax documentation. 
    Do you have any recommendations or resources on this issue?
