Tracking speaking engagements

Hello, we area currently researching the best way to track speaking engagements in Raiser's edge and measure results. On a given day our officers may engage in 4 to 5 scheduled presentations.

 

I'm hoping to get advice on the best way to track Public Outreach activities in RE...specifically with regards to tracking different stats.  We have tried using events but does not produce the results needed. 

How do you track public outreach activities?

If Events does not work for you, the next place I would suggest would be Actions. If I am understanding correctly, your gift officers are giving presentations and you need to track results by specific metrics. You could create an Action on the Gift Officer's RE record, called "Speaking Engagements", and then create Action Attributes to record the specific results you are needing to track (ie, number attended, etc.). For recording donations received as a result of a speaking engagement, you would probably need to use the Solicitor function. Without knowing more about the kinds of things you are needing to track, I can't offer anything more specific. Hope this helps!

I agree with using actions. Some of the canned reports for actions might actually work quite nicely for you depending on what your needs are. Good luck!
