How do you exclude an item from being taxed?

I am trying to figure out how to exclude an item from being taxed in eCommerce. Certain food items in California are exempt from being taxed, but every other item in our store must be taxed if shipped within the state. I did not see anything in all of the options to exclude it from the tax schedule. Does anyone have any insite?

Although there is not a section on the product set up where you can indicate that a product is tax-free, when you set up your eSalesTax account, you should be able to set up the business rules there that will determine taxability.
