Mapping Event attributes to constituent in RE

Options
I have been searching the discussions and haven't found any discussion on this.

Is there any functionality that allows me to map event attributes back to the constituent record of the person registering for the event?

We would like to collect many data points that we want stored back on the constituent record in RE.

Also, is there any future vision for creating a "Constituent Registration form" where we could have new volunteers register using Online Express so that we can select all "required" constituent fields that we want to collect?

The altter sounds more like the kind of thing you get with Net Community.

As for the former we'd be keen on that as well. At the moment I think you just have to export it an and then import it again.

    Thanks Matt -

I am just learning Online Express and the online help is not very indepth. However, it was billed to us as a replacement for Net Community which we currently have and were planning on retiring once we have converted our donation forms to OE. Unfortunately, we are all volunteers with no paid staff so development in Net Community has been limited.

I may actually go back and try some additional things there since it appears OE is limited on the database integration side.

  • I don't really know Net Community, but my uderstanding is that it was more deisgned for the kind of scenario where people create an account and add their own details etc.

But I could well be wrong.

You would have to create Participant attributes for Event Registrations and then either export them/import them as was suggested by Mattthew Page or use Global change to add them to the Constituent Attribute tab.  If you use fields with direct correlation and set table entries, Global Changes would not be too hard to do once you have it set up.

You'll need to talk to the OLX product development team regarding the Volunteer question.  I didn't hear anything about that during any of the bbcon sessions nor have I seen it in the product roadmaps I've followed (thought I could have missed it!).

OLX is a much simpler product than BBNC.  There's good and bad to that, so you have to weigh out the cost difference and the functionality difference to see what is most important for your organization.
