excluding constituents pulled from a group

We have an email campaign for an event that is set up to send out to a handful of groups. We're pulling the list of people who have already purchased tickets and are sending them one email and then we want to send out a mass email to the rest of the groups (excluding the constituents who've already purchased tickets).

What's the best way to go about this?

For the email to the "ticket purchasers" we'll just upload that list and exclude the rest of the groups but how do we get those "ticket purchasers" excluded from the mass email?

You'd just need to add the group to exclude to the "Do Not Mail" list for the message. (See http://help.convio.net/site/PageServer?pagename=Admin_Email_Campaigns for details.)

Note that Convio automatically creates groups for each event, found in the Groups list under the Event Attendees group type. You should only need to do an upload if you're adding people who have purchased tickets offline.
