Peer to Peer Fundraising

I'm looking for suggestions on the best way to track peer to peer fundraising in RE. We have a new annual event that is expected to raise $30,000+. The donations range from $10 to $100. We have individual fundraisers which are part of teams and need to track both fundraiser and team performance. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  • Have you looked at creating solicitor relationships?  Under the fund or campaign you can create teams, set goals etc.  (I don't use appeal teams any more as can not import appeal solicitors and it's not a field in assignment pop-up when working in batch gift entry.)  Prospects can be assigned out ahead of time or solicitor entered with gift entry.  The Reports > Analyic > Solicitor Performance Analysis will list each solicitor and the gifts they have been credited with.  Not quite as clean as I would like as SPA exports alphabetically instead of by teams so for separate ones I just create separate reports.
  • I have tried numerous ways of doing this (including solicitor relationships), and I ended up stumbling on a not obvious solution, but it requires that you have the Tribute module installed.


    If you have the Tribute module, then you can create a tribute type for your event. In my use case, I create a new type for every year of the event. When a participat registers, they get marked as "Constituent is an honor/memorial" in the tribute tab, and I create a new tribute with the appropriate tribute type. Then, whenever a gift arrives in support of that person, it just gets added to the appropriate tribute.


    I like this because it's easy to query on this kind of information, it's easy to use canned reports for this type of info, and it's easier to add the appropriate information to the gift within a batch (though this is a matter of muscle memory for me - for others, adding a solicitor to a gift is just as easy if not easier, it's just that this is something my org basically never does).
