We'd like to segment our thank you autoresponders on our main donation campaign based on donation amount. Is it best to do through conditional text or is there a better way?

    For immediate autoresponders, you don't have much choice than to use conditional text. In theory, you could make an autoresponder-specific email template and put conditionals in there too (but test it thoroughly, templates don't always carry over the info when they should).


    For scheduled autoresponders, you have a little more flexibility using the Email Campaigns system. Basically, you'll create either a recurring task or query to that builds a group based on your donor levels. From there you'll create the message (could be individual messages, or could be a single one with conditionals) and set up a recurring send. That'll give you a host of delivery options, too. You'll also have access to Do Not Email groups, so you might use that to avoid sending the same person multiple messages for the various tiers.


    Downside to the TR autoresponders - no tracking on the links, very little flexibility.

    Downside to the scheduled email campaigns - participant will get an opt out link, and you're limited in what S-Tags you can use (it won't have the TeamRaiser context, so you won't be able to pull event details).
