Add-On Tickets

We're trying out a new format of event this year, and we'll be doing a beer garden (I believe? I'm not planning it, just making sure Raiser's Edge can handle the registration & data for it.)


I've been asked to set up two ticket prices (Adult, child) then have an additional 'beer garden entry' ticket. Have any of you done this? We'll be using RE7: Events and Online Express to manage this.


Should I set it up so I have three tickets like this:
  • Adult registration
  • Child registration
  • Add On: Beer garden ticket
or should I do:
  • Adult registration (no beer garden access)
  • Adult registration (with beer garden access)
  • Child registration 
or some other way? Have any of you done an event like this? Any tips for setting it up?

  • I would suggest setting it up as in your second example. We have a similar tiered registration for one of our alumni reunion events (Attending, or Attending + Overnight stay), and the inconvenience with OLX is that for every registration type you select on the online form, the registrant has to enter their information that many times. So if I register for the Adult and the Beer Garden separately, then I must enter my name and address information twice on the form. A bit inconvenient for donors, though not necessarily a make-or-break if other circumstances force you to do it that way.


    As far as the Event record itself, there's no problem with either division method, both work just as well. Good luck!
