Overlay images in html emails in LO?

Greetings,

  I'm working on creating an email that has an image as a footer; with a couple of buttons ontop of that image.  I can't figure out how to make any image or button overlay onto any images.  Does anyone know if it is possible to overlay images in the LO email system? I'm new to html emails, but not new to front-end dev.  Any help would be awesome!

Romany points you in the right direction. I'd also do some digging into learning how to use background images in email. Litmus has a good article here: https://litmus.com/community/learning/25-understanding-background-images-in-email


There are also a lot of great resources for buttons that are created with css instead of images with text overlays. bonus is that they'll display if images are turned off. I second CSS buttons. Less images the better.


Images are off by default for most of your recipients. I've gotten emails that were completely blank aside from the unsubscribe link (all the content in a huge image.)
