Clean-up of Duplicate email on Spouse

With the 7.95 upgrade we no longer transfer the email address and phone number along with the address when a spouse is created.


The problem is the historical data which has the duplicate email address on the spouse.  I need to clean that up.  I'm wondering if anyone has experience does this and recommendations?  I would be working in Excel to do the clean-up, insert ^ into the cells to blank out the value upon import.  Then I'd run the Delete Blank Phone Types utility.


In most cases, we have the spouse without an ID, and part of the primary record.  In those cases, a membership or gift could be on either record.  I'm aware of this.

  • I'm learning that this is more complicated than first thought, because it is based on the Individual Relationship Import ID.  Ideally, we should have relationship/reciprocal populated for each person, but we have a lot of records without that information.  The KB article 46468 is the place to start.
