What is the best way to offer a special discounted ticket price to current members?

In Events, you can control access to each ticket class by security category. So, if you create a security category which only members have access to, then you can create a ticket class at a discounted price and assign it to said security category.

Keep in mind -- your member will have to be LOGGED IN to see the discounted price.  If they're not logged in, they'll only be able to see tickets set with security categories you've defined as being visible to everyone -- by default this is the General category, but you can configure security categories any which way you want.  Powerful, but crazy complex when you really get into it...  If you're driving people to the event via e-mail, and you have auto-login links on, then you'll be fine, but for people come in via your website, you'll need to make sure you provide some sort of login pathway for them.
