Percentage of participation reporting by constiuent

Options
I am struggling to find an appropriate report that shows % of giving by constiuency. I would like to report on both spouses in a household, but want the giving numbers to reflect what each household gave. I've put a hierarchy already on the constiuencies.

We have recently acquired RE NXT and there may be a different way of doing that in this program.

thanks!

Hi Katrina! One of our best options to report on percent given by Constituency in Raiser's Edge would be to run a Statistical Report. The Statistical Report can be found in the Demographic and Statistical Reports section of Reports. This Report doesn't use Head of Household Processing so both Constituents (Husband and Wife) should be included as long as you are not filtering one or the other out. If you are soft-crediting the Husband and Wife for their spouse's giving then you have the standard options of giving them both credit for their Gifts.

The knowledgebase article related to it can be found here: https://kb.blackbaud.com/articles/Article/39803!

    I hope this helps :)

Please note -- if you are doing this report to reflect from year to year, it is best to use the Gift Constit Code, because you may have some peeps that have changed over time, depending on your org.  For example, we are in education and have folks change from Current Parent to Paren of Alum.
  • Also note that, unfortunately, the Constituent Code reports in NXT Analyze are based only on the current Primary Constituent Code when the report is run/dashboard refreshed.  This is rather unfortunate, because as Christine says, Primary Constituent Codes can change over time.  If you don't currently use Gift Constituency, it defaults to the Primary Constituent Code on the record when the Gift is entered.  Hopefully someday that will change and at least become an option to use Gift Consty instead of Primary Consty.

This is good to know. I've been doing my reports in the database view of RE, since I'm used to this reporting. I was not aware of the gift constiuency code - which I assume is in the gift tab/misc/constiuency.

Thanks for this very helpful information.

yes, the Gift Constituent Code is in the Gift Tab and it defaults to entering the Primary Constit code at the time the gift was entered.

Agreed that NXT needs more functionality in this regard. I don't think that Blackbaud always considers how detailed some of us our with reporting.
