Use Seating Chart for Event Housing

Options
Has anyone ever used the seating chart in the events module to coordinate housing for event attendees? I can't use the travel tab under the registrant records because they will be staying in host homes not hotels.

I'd want to track the name of the hosts, number of people they can host, and the hosts contact number.

Example: Brad & Judy Johnson, space for 3 people, 763-888-5353

  • I haven't used the seating in the event module for this but I couldn't see why it would not work just fine.

Just set the 'table' as the name of the host family and you can have 'seats' that represent the number of people they can host.

It will be interesting to see if others have different solutions.

Awesome! Thanks for your feedback. Do you know if it would be possible to link a contact number for the hosts at all?

You might be able to fit a contact number in the table name.

Or you could add a participant for the host and have that information stored there in an attribute or it links back to the const record for the host (if one exists). You could also just add the phone number to the participant record for each guest in an attribute. I guess it depends on how you want to export/do reports on this information
