Pledges on Team Raiser - has anyone used them before?

Hi BB Community,


Has anyone used the Team Raiser platform to collect pledges instead of donations? I know that the function for pledges exists for registered participants, such as delayed self-pledges, but I'm wondering if a similar function exists for a non-registered donor on behalf of a registered participant. To be more specific, we have a host who wants to set up an event where donors would pledge a dollar amount of their choice (if need be, there could be fixed amounts) per lap in a run. We think that this will prompt fundraising for a race that generally falls subject to participants paying the registration fee and foregoing fundraising efforts.
