BBMS/OLX/RE integration

Options
Afternoon all,

Haven't been active in the community for a bit, so hopefully I'm not bringing up something that has been discussed too much before. If I am, could someone direct me to the thread, as I couldnt' find one on this topic.

With that said, we've been using OLX for almost a year and at the time we signed up for it, also got two mobile card readers. We have found though, that transactions done via the readers shows up on BBMS, with no way to really integrate it smoothly with RE. (We self-host, so maybe this isn't an issue for those using NXT) Additionally, and this is our biggest problem, is that as a community foundation, there is no way to pre-designate where the funds should go (like in an OLX form). We've come up with a shorthand where we put the fund name in the comments section at the bottom, but the extra work is almost making the readers not worth having. Is there a way to get better integration?

Thanks all!

  • This is my biggest problem with BBMS and the credit card swiper. There is NO integration with RE - you have to download the transaction info from BBMS and enter the gift info from there (I enter it by hand in a batch, since there is so much extra info that we just don't care about/have fields for, and too much that isn't there, like appeals and acknowledgement letters, although I suppose you could import the info if you wanted). There was SUPPOSED to be integration in the most recent version of RE (we're hosted), but the first time I clicked on it, it basically said "COMING SOON!" AND it led to a very strange problem in Batch (even though the function supposedly didn't do anything) that took me and BB Support a couple of days to figure out. I haven't seen that icon in RE since, and I don't know what's happening with it, if anything. Perhaps someone from Blackbaud has more insight?

There is one way to integrate the MobilePay data into an RE Batch. You need the Event module and download the Event App. There is not much Blackbaud documentation for the set-up steps, but when I got the right customer support from a person who knew all 3 - BBMS, RE & the Event App, my IT guy and I figured out how to load the participants for an event in the app, swipe their credit cards for payments including raffles, and send the data into a pre-configured batch with your own defaults.  I use OLX also to create online forms that sync with RE Batch, but for events, this is the only way I avoid manual data entry.

    Hello Hailey,

As Gail and Daniel mentioned, transactions from the MobilePay app don't download directly into batches in Raiser's Edge. However, if you're using a MobilePay swiper with the Event app, you can definitely configure the transactions to be added to a batch. More information on this can be found in the following articles:

How to use a MobilePay card swiper with RE Event App or Ipad

How to choose the gift batch for registration payments taken via Mobile Events Management app with MobilePay

The integration Daniel was referring to was Auto-Reconciliation which has since been removed from the Raiser's Edge navigation bar in version 7.96. This module was part of a beta program we trialed and have since removed so we can re-assess Raiser's Edge approach to reconciliation.

    Kind regards,

    Carolyn
