OLX Non-ask Emails

Hi - One way we are using OLX to send general information to constituents (e-newsletters, announcements, scheduled workshops, etc.) where NO ASK is involved. We don't want the information uploaded to their records as an appeal (it isn't). Where else can we record they received the email? How do we do it? Is there a way to change where non-ask emails are tracked in their records? Thanks.

  • It may not be a fundraising appeal, but it is a marketing appeal. You could indicate a different "Marketing Segment" on the appeal. I think that is under "Message Type" in OEX.

     
  • We record all OLX messages as well as all mass mailings via post as Appeals, even if they don't include an ask.  Keeps everything in one place and simple.  Then when we include an ask and/or remittance envelope in one newsletter but not in the next newsletter, they are both tracked in the same place/manner.
  • Thank you, Jen and Sunshine! I appreciate your responses and suggestions. While some of the emails are neither (asks or marketing), we will try using the 'message type' to segment those communications and distinguish them from strategic messages.
