Query not appearing when trying Global Add

Options
I am trying to do a Global Add for registration to an event for the first time. When the popup for Global Add comes up, I select "Registrants for an Event" and then "Include>Selected Individuals." Another popup opens where I can search for my query of constituent IDs, but it isn't listed. Does this box only pull up a certain list of queries? I searched for all dynamic individual queries and it only pulled up 25 different queries, and I know we have at least 10x that many.

Like I said this is the first time I have tried this so I must be missing a step somewhere. Any help would be appreciated (because entering registrants one by one is killing me slowly).

Thanks!

Kevin

  • Are you sure you created it as an individual query, and not a constituent query? I fall foul of that all the time; luckily you can just open the query again and change the type.
  • Your Query needs to be an Individual Query, not a Constituent Query.  In your Query, go to Tools > Query Options and change the Query Type from Constituent to Individual.  If this doesn't solve your problem, post again.  =)

Also, you can tell this because in the Global Add search window, it shows you which Query Types you can search for.  In this case, Individual is the only Type allowed.

Thanks Alan, I honestly did not even know there was a difference between the two! I made the adjustment and the add went off without a hitch. Thank you!

Thank you for the tip Jen. I honestly did not realize that individual was an option, I guess I've only ever run constituent queries. Luckily it was wasy to change and my add went through perfectly, thank you!

  • I've been using RE for almost 15 years and sometimes I forget about this and have a mini freak out when I can't find my query.
