Resubscribe

Options
Hi all,

If a constituent unsubscribes/opts out of an OLX email but later resubscribes by completing the email Signup form, are they opted back into OLX emails?  In other words, does their latest signup automatically overwrite their previous opt out , or do I have to manually uncheck the "This constituent Requests no email" box on the constituent's Bio1 tab?

Thanks!!!

  • Hi, Rachel, I just spoke with a OLX rep today who said the ONLY way to resubscribe someone is to have them email us from the email they want to be readded, and for us to create a case and have Blackbaud's technicians re-add them to the white list. It has nothing to do with the signup form or the "requests no email" checkbox. Users can't un-blacklist, only blackbuad can...because of federal unsubscribe laws. :(

  • Okay, I just tested this.  I signed myself up.  I sent a test message to a query with only my constituent record in it.  I unsubscribed via that email.  I saw my email address in the Unuseable Emails section.  I signed up again on the website with the same email address.  My email address disappeared from the Unusable Emails section.  I sent a second test message.  I received the second test at that email address.

So it appears that if someone unsubscribes, they can resubscribe by signing up again via your Sign Up form.  (The sign up has to be confirmed by clicking the link in the confirmation email.)

Now if I were able to clean up my test and remove those test emails...
