How to run a query or report on "lapsed" members including today as far back as two years

Can anyone help me figure out how to run a query or report that will let my Development team know how many of our members are lapsed as of today, going back two years? We have the membership module.

By "going back two years" I'm assuming you mean that the expiration date was within the last two years?  In a Constituent Query you want Membership > Current > Expires on > (your date range here).  If you "Drop" memberships this may not work.
