What do YOU want to see in the Luminate Community?

Options
Hey Community!

As we close in on the end of the year, the Community team is taking a closer look at our 2017 goals and all of the amazing things we want to accomplish in the year ahead. In setting those goals, we want to hear your voices--the heart of the Blackbaud community.

What would you like to see that would improve your experience in the Luminate product community, or the Blackbaud community as a whole? What would make logging in every day a joy? What would add more value to your community experience?

Let me know your suggestions in the discussion below.

I can't wait to work with you all even more closely next in the months ahead to make the Luminate community better than ever.

  • Participation by some more advanced developers. We have the basic stuff mostly covered, but the really interesting ones sometimes go unanswered. For instance...

Non-Secure session not being created by API call.

Noah used to post once in a while, and a few of those were the most interesting of all time for me.

Thanks for the feedback, Brian. I can definitely see some opportunities there.

  • User post history

It might even be in place already, and I just can't figure out where to find it. If not, I'm sure I could learn a lot by going through past answers from folks like Sara, Noah, Brian, etc.

    Power Techniques

Not sure of the best way to do this, or who would have the time to actually compile/edit, but it'd be great if we had a wiki or something for the most universally useful techniques that have been found. The KB, help docs, starter kits, and community have tons of great info, but you really need to know what you're looking for. I can't count the number of times I've stumbled across something mind-blowing, then lost the bookmark. It'd be awesome to have the cream of the crop, broken down by topic. Just off the top of my head, stuff like:
    • Adding metadata (tracking pixels, advanced eCommerce, OG tags, rich snippets, canonical link, etc.)
    • Common uses of powerful tags (U0/1, S42, S4, S334, S151, S400, S100)
    • Understanding more complicated tags/techniques (S120, S47, conditionals, U0:trID, T-tags, SDPs, S48:fr_id-cons_id, custom badges, s_src, pre-filled forms, TR divisions, PDF Receipts, S130, E-tags)
    • Common JS techniques (LuminateExtend.js, removing system-level DOM elements, setting hidden form fields, maybe even some AngularJS)
    • Hidden gem SDP settings, especially ones only support can change (removing BB email styles, enabling regional companies)
    • Fresh new tags from recent point releases
