Need help in best way to determine employee participation

Options
I'm seeking ideas in how best to calculate employee participation, taking into account employee turnover, etc. What's the best way to pull in employees who actually worked during the time frame being queried, taking into account that some may now be Former Employees??

Thanks!

  • We do that, in my database, by a combination of things.  We have a constituent code for employees, and that means that it goes into the gift record as the gift constituent code for all their giving while employed.  If we just want to see what our employees gave to our employee campaign, we can do that via our campaigns and appeals.  We also have a Type of Individual attribute that shows what location the employee works at, and we can pull that into queries or reports as well.

  • We do this. We made a query which grabs all Current Employees (a constituency code) as well as any Former Employees from our organization that have a "To Date" within the calendar year.  Then we just look at all giving.

So as long as you're coding your former employees with the "To Date" when they leave the whole thing should work...

Well part of the answer definitely depends on how you keep data to begin with.  The most direct way to get the info you are asking for -- that I know works -- is to pull by Gift Constituent code and Dates.  BUT that only works IF the Constit Codes have been kept in a systematic way to begin with and therefore the GCC is what it should be, because it feeds over from the Constit Code at the time of the gift (and if it changes over time and the Prime CC changes, from then on the Gift Const Code changes).

Another way would be to include their Employee Relation From and to Dates.
