Password Reset Form - How can I change where the form redirects on submit?

Options
If a user requests a password reset, they get the email, they click on the reset password link, is there a way to control where the user goes after this form is submitted? I think we used to have it set up to go to a page that indicated success but now it just returns the user to our homepage.

Hi Matthew, We accomlished this using Page Builder and the standard 'deploymenthome' page. Our website is external to LO so we redirect this page to a specific page on our website where the user can login after resetting their password.I hope this helps. Lori
  • Thanks Lori,

Are you saying that in your installation when the reset password form is submitted the user is directed to a PageBuilder page called 'deploymenthome'? Does that mean I need to make a page called 'deploymenthome' or can I change a setting to adjust the redirect to a different PageBuilder page?

  • Yes, when the reset password form is submitted the user is directed to a PageBuilder page called 'deploymenthome'. We updated this page to redirect to a specific page on our external website. Our instance has this page originally created in 2007 so I'm under the assumption that it's a standard Page Builder page that goes to the homepage of the donor service center.
  • Not 100% sure about this, but I don't think you can control the PW reset form destination specifically. I think the only way is to specify your site's home page in SiteOptions. PW Reset and Login/Logout that do not have NextURL params, etc. all go to that page. I suspect that deploymenthome is set to be their site's home page. (I wonder if they could just go directly to an external page, rather than using an intermediate redirect on a PB page.)

So you could set your site's home page to be a thank you page. But I worry about people being directed there in scenarios we're not thinking about.
