Two Donate buttons

Options
I have co-workers that are wanting to create a Lightbox/Splash page/interrupter for the homepage that would give our donors/prospects the option of "TEAM40" (our monthly giving level) or "Your Best Gift". The thought by the co-workers is that if there is a button for TEAM40 and we are constantly talking about TEAM40 onair (we're a radio network), the donor will click on TEAM40. My opinion is that if given the option, no matter how many times you talk about a giving level, if given the option to make a smaller one-time "Best Gift", the Donor will take the smaller one-time "Best Gift". Any thoughts?

You might be surprised. Why not do some testing and see? You can use Google Experiment to A/B test between two versions of your page.

Another approach I'm working on now is a pop-up on donation submit, which asks one-time donors to consider a monthly gift instead in an effort to rebuild our sustainer program.

The logic on this one just divides their one time gift by twelve and rounds off, but you could offer anything you wanted. The thought here is that this is an ongoing donation, so we stand a good chance of getting more than what they were considering in the long run.

(Choose PayPal so you can test the submit button without actually triggering a donation.)

    Brian,

That is a nice form, I really like your POPUP. Are you designing it in Luminate, or are you building it outside and connecting it through API's?

  • Thanks! It's an API based form, but it will probably always live in a PageBuilder page in Luminate.
