Pulling Christmas Card Lists

Options
We're looking for some advice of how best to pull lists for mailing out Christmas cards.  Originally, we thought having an attribute would work best but that would involve staff remembering to update the attribute every year and add it to new constituents.

We opted for criteria based lists instead.  For example, our criteria for the Christmas card mail out list is: donors over $________, board members, health region leadership, etc.  These are pulled using constituent codes. The problem we're currently running into now is how to get constituents to pull with their primary business information/address.  The constituent code is on their individual record

Does it make sense to put the constituent code on their organization record, and make them a specific contact type?

We are open to suggestions on how best to do this.

If you are querying on 'donors over $X' is the query going to pull the personal record or the employer?  What record has the gift?  The organization should have it's own constituent code.  It may or may not be the same as the individuals depending on your constit code structure.  Maybe you need two parts to your query: individuals, constit code, gift over... and a second pulling organizations with gifts over $X dollars.  Then in mail or export (however you're processing list) set your preferences for mailing to business contacts.

    Just a thought...
