Entering a specifc target to constituent records

Options
Hello. In our current database we can assign each donor a specifc target per campaign. Is there a way to do this in Raiser's Edge?

Thanks!

  • There is a Target field on the Bio2 Tab.  However, I'm not sure that's what you're looking for.  If you have the Prospect/Search Module, you can enter a Proposal with a Campaign selected.  You can also assign a Solicitor with a Campaign.
  • Thanks Jen.  The target field on Bio 2 doesn't seem to be quite the functionality I was looking for. Not sure if we have that module, I'll look into it!

  • Just to clarify, the Assigned Solicitor option is not tied to the Prospect Module, so if you don't have Prospect, consider Assigned Solicitor.  If you don't want to actually assign a person as the Solicitor, you can create a dummy record and use that as the Constituent assigned as the Solicitor and then put in the Campaign information.
  • Hmmm.  I'm not certain I understand.  Our contituents' targets have never been tied to a solicitor, just to the campaign. We need to be able to print out a field that tells our volunteers what to ask for when they call, and be able to track if people are giving at our ask level, exceeding it or not meeting it. Maybe it can be tied to an appeal?  My big problem is we are not up and running in RE yet so I can't poke around.
  • If you assign constituents to a particular volunteer, you could assign that volunteer as the solicitor.

Otherwise, you could also use a Constituent Attribute.

Appeal could maybe work, so long as you don't need to use that to track the actual Appeal you're sending out.

But it sounds like you'll want to use the Prospect Module if you have it.

And, you will probably want to create a few dummy records to test out the options for what you want to do, including Export and Report.

If you will be using NXT, you'll want to strongly consider assigning Solicitors, as NXT features are largely based on assigned solicitors.

  • Jeanne - we accomplish what you need by creating ratings that serve as target ask amounts. You can configure the field to be currency (which lets you sort as number, summarize, etc) and give it a name that matches your campaign or Annual Giving year. Also easy to import, export and update ratings. You do need the RE:Search (aka Prospect Module) - otherwise you have to roll your own ratings via attributes.
  • Graham, thanks so much for your reply! 2 workable options, much appreciated.
