Constituent Name, full (more than first line) Action Notes, and date of note

I am trying to produce a report with:


Constituent Name

Action Type (phone call, etc)

Action Note (I can get the first line but no more)

Date of Note


Tech support says it cannot be done and I have put a suggestion in to RE.


Any ideas greatly appreciated.

I do this all the time through export or query export.


Are you pulling Action Note - Note or Action Note - Description?


Are you getting the single line in the Export or on the query results?

Hi Melanie,

Are you trying to do this with a canned report?  If so I doubt you can do that and tech support is correct


But if you export as Shani suggested it should work.  There is a character limit in the notepad within Excel (I believe it is the standard 255/265 characters). So if it is a long note it will truncate.


Once you export the data, if you know how to use Crystal Reports you can set up a report based on the data so it looks nicer than an Excel listing

The canned reports for Actions are really limited and not designed well.  Your best bet is to pull a query through Export for Action info, especially if you are including notes
