Customize Unsubscribe Message

Not really. The Unsubscribe button, unfortunately, unsubscribes donors from all communications, and we had people unsubscribing because they just didn't want to receive our Alumni e-letters. The best we've come up with, on some of our emails, is to prelude the Unsubscribe button on the email blast itself, with a small text insert encouraging people to email us if they only want to receive certain types of email notifications.


I wish that BlackBaud offered the kind of Unsubscribe flexibility that some online platforms have, where donors can select which types of communications they wish to be removed from.

Faith, I realize this thread is a couple years old but would you happen to have a sample of what you add to your emails? We have this issue often. People don't want the solicitations but then get upset they don't get invitations to our events. Then, once we explain to them that they opted-out, they want to be added back in, which is just another process for them and for us! Everyone gets annoyed. But I think this would be a great way to try and alleviate that! Thank you!

I know these messages are from a couple of years ago, but does anyone have an update on this matter? We have tried to customize our unsubscribe message just as Faith has done but would love another option.

We're about to send out our first NXT email blast and came up against this issue. The unsubscribe message is misleading as it looks like recipients would be unsubscribing to messages from the overall university and not just the alumni office.  Support recommended to add it as a suggestion for a future release.  It's unfortunate that there is still no solution.  An earlier post mentioned adding small text in the email itself before the unsubscribe link which is the way we are going for now.
