Online Express Event Form

I will be using the online express event form for the first time for an upcoming event. What are some of the experiences using the form for those who have used it before?

  • For each type of item "registered", the participant has to enter his information anew. For instance, if you have a couple buying 2 tickets, they will each need to enter their name and bio info - no biggie. But if you have a more complicated registration system, where a single participant has to select a dinner ticket and an overnight accomodation, he will have to enter his bio info once for the ticket and again for the overnight. So, when planning your event form, try to reduce, or "package up", the number of registration units required to register for the event.


    Some donors become confused and enter their name as the buyer and again as the registrant, so occasionally when you download them, they will appear twice in the Event module. This is not an error with the form, this is just people getting confused on the form. Those records will need cleaned up.


    All form information downloads into the Event participant record as an Attribute. So if you need to have the information put under the "Travel" or "Name Tag" tabs, for example, the data will need to be manually transferred from the Attributes tab to the other fields.


    All of this being said, we still have found the Event forms to be great, because of the integration with the Events module, and are pleased with its overall functionality. Best of luck on your event!
